Most online coaching for school students is built around one goal: get through the exam. The result is a generation of students who can attempt a question paper but cannot explain the concept behind it.
SmartPrep was built from a different starting point.
The problem we kept seeing
When we spoke to Class 8 and 9 students preparing for Class 10 boards, the same pattern appeared. They had attended coaching. They had done practice papers. But when we asked them to explain why a particular formula worked, or to apply a concept in a new context, many could not. The coaching had taught them to recognise question types, not to understand subjects.
This is not the fault of the students or even the teachers. It is a structural problem with how exam-focused coaching is designed.
What SmartPrep does differently
SmartPrep is built on three principles. First, curriculum alignment: every lesson, every exercise, and every assessment is tied directly to the school syllabus. Students are not learning parallel material. They are deepening what school should have taught them.
Second, live human teaching: SmartPrep courses are live online or hybrid, not pre-recorded. A human teacher leads every session. Questions are answered in real time.
Third, AI enhancement without AI replacement: we use AI for feedback on writing, for practice question generation, and for revision tools. But the core instruction is human.
Where SmartPrep sits
